Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful summer! Fall is just around the corner! It has been hot down here in NC and I have been very busy this summer! At the end of July I moved into a great new house! If you have ever moved and purchased a new home you know how very stressful that can be! Along with a new house comes new opportunities to organize and make the home your own! My first project was probably the smallest room in the house, the laundry room! The room was in rough shape! With my parents help we were able to get the room completed in one day!
Here are some before pictures!
The linoleum floor was torn in a few places and the light was very dim. The light also put off a ton of heat! Not very efficient!! The washer didn't really fit in the drain pan since it was a fabricated pan from what we thing was HVAC sheet metal! Love when contractors cut corners!
Here are the after pictures!
I was able to stay under $500 for the room upgrade. The elfa shelving was the most expensive but right at $200. I love elfa because it is customizable even after you put it up! Container Store has great staff to help you design your area! I went with stick on vinyl squares for the floor for multiple reasons. First, it is super easy to install. I think it took us about 20 minutes to install! Second, it is cheap! I spent less than $35 on the floor! That is awesome and if anything ever happens that it needs to be replaced I won't feel bad ripping it up! The baskets and hamper also came from Container Store! We also installed a new LED light! Totally brightened up the room! I was also able to get Stormy's awesome litter box, CatGenie, back in use! I am so looking forward to the closet/room I get to elfa!
Hope you enjoyed the post and got some ideas for your laundry room. If you have any questions don't hesitate to leave me a comment!
